Flowers are Pretty

Mr. Sands is such an amazing teacher. Even when he is not here, and we only have a video to hear his beautiful voice, we still learn to the most full extent. He is a great teacher and I learned how to make these flowers out of stars. and also learned how to make a star exploding. I am sad Mr. Sands is not here, but glod he can still teach us to the most fullness of his capability.

Forced Perspective

Forced Perspective is taking a photo of something that is impossible and making it possible, such as holding the sun. Obviously, we arent actually holding the sun, but with the right sized finger positioning it makes it look like we are. It was a fun project to do and took lots of  creativity, thinking, and time. It took lots of time because the positioning had to be exactly on point, because if not, it would not look remotely real.

Clay Project

These clay projects were fun to do because it was a project that took lots of patience and time. We had many days to do our sculptures. The creativity used to makes these pieces of art shows in each project by the way that they are so different and none are the same, it also made it that much fun.

My sculpture (above) is my image of a hippie, who looks a lot like Jesus. Below is a sculpture a classmate made of a cartoon like bear that resembles a Gummy Bear to me personaly.

 Zedtangles

The zedtangles have been my favorite project so far. It required us to work together and also apart with all of our teamates. We figured out that if we work too closesly together, then the picture wouldnt come out as creative, but if we worked not too far apart, then the piece would go in too many directions for us all to bring it back together as one piece. Our wall resembled a tree that was dieing, and somewhat looked like a Greatful Dead Album Cover.

Gangsta Gopher is a print I made this week with my awesome art 1 teacher, Mr. Sands. Mr. Sands is an amazing teacher, which you can see by the great craftsmanship in this print. This assignment involved lots of creativity, and freedom, to make whatever you want. It was very fun to do because i had a creative print that was fun to think of, fun to do, and fun to look at. I had to draw the picture, then trace it onto a mat, and cut out the excess. Then paint over the top of the print and copy it to a sheet of paper.
The angry pancake is an activity i made last year as well. Mr. Sands may think that i am using the same picture file, but really, i am not. This is a new picture that i just recreated again. I hope Mr.Sands believes me, because he is so beautiful and i would hate to disappoint him. I learned a lot from this piece, like taking your time adds a lot to the photo. That is the biggest lesson I have learned from all of the art pieces so far.

We drew self portaits of ourselves the past week in art. It was a fairly good learning experience because i figured out what my strengthes and weaknesses are. I think some of my strenghts are drawing the nose, and some of the hair, as well as the overall shape of the face. The biggest weakness I am facing are the lips, and the shading on the forehead. The lips made my look apeish.

The week before the self portraits, we were to make multi color portraits using spray paint and stencils. I changed a few things about what we were suposed to do, such as i used regular paint instead of spray paint. I think this was a good idea because it gave the picture a bit of texture, but at the same time I couldnt add more colors to it. I do like the way it turned out though, because it took lots of time, and it was also fun to do at the same time.

Junk Shadow

This first junk shadow is a very fun activity to do, because it needs a lot of teamwork. The Project was to use junk we found around the room and make a picture of it. The picture we made was a flying saucer flying above a town causing lots of mischief. I like this because the hat we used to make it makes a perfect flying saucer.

Value Scale

This is a MONSTER TRUCK that i drew using a value scale. With this picture im not too pleased because it apears that I am afraid of the dark, because there are not many darks. The lights are there where they are required but there should be more darks. The shape and look of the truck is nice, but some nice shading would make it look much more realistic.

Reducing Image Levels
This picture was fun to do because it made the picture have a completely different look in such a simple way. The picture is only four different shades of grey and black. This taught me that just adjusting the color of a picture can make it look so different. Below this is a picture of 2 flying squirrels, one with a shadow, and another without one. The shadow makes the image POP off the page and look much more realistic. This was also very simple to do but made the picture come out so much better.

I liked to do this landscape of Rhinos walking on the water. The reflections took a lot of time to do and it was worth while. The rhinos were fun to do although, because it addd more creativity to the peice. My favorite part of the picture would be the reflections.
