The Nature Store Girft Cards

This week we had to make different gift cards for a store that we were to make up. The store I make up was the "Nature Store". 2 of the cards were a very outdoors theme, of different sports. One of climbing and one of hiking. The other two were a more artsy theme, with a tree on one and leaves and grass on the other. All of the cards have the name of the store on them because that is what almost all cards have, and some have a saying on it as well, such as ,"Get Your Gear Here," telling the custormer more of what they sell.

Muscle Men

This "Muscle Men" piece was fun to do because it involved a lot of freedom to do anything! I like the contrast of green and red, and also the black and white. The black and white on time of each other is a cool looking and a kind of mind bender.

Surf Style

The thing I like most about this Merduck magazine cover is the Merduck itself. I think that adding these two characters was creative and it came out great. The biggest thing I learned from this piece is how to edit text to make it POP more. The stroke to the text makes a big difference. Also changing the text color to a color out of the picture. One thing that worked about this is how the stories fit together with the picture. My overall thought on this piece is positive because I think that all of the colors and pictures and stories fit together well, altogether making it a nice looking piece.

Darial! Donald and Ariel
This is a mixed photo of Donald Duck and Ariel the Mermaid. I like this photo because of the thought I put into the photo. I think it is fairly creative and took some time. The fact that he is holding a surfboard is perfect for this picture because it is more ocean - like.

Using the Pen Tool
Using the pen tool was fun and easy. It was fun to use because if was seen as instant gratification. You could see the letters turn on the words instantly and it made the piece make that much better. This tool would be perfect for introducing people in movies and in TV shows.

Fonts
Fonts were a lot easier than I thought they would be. The type tool is very useful for adding text to the bottom of pictures. This could be anywhere from a Title to a Caption. The effects that you can add to the texts can also make a cool effects, like if you were doing a picture of nature, your text could be from an image that is very similar or even the complete opposite to show comparison. My favorite effect from above is probably the spaced out and twisted because it looks like it is wrapped around something, like 3D.

Pauly D and Johnny Bravo Mixture!!!!
As unrealistic as this picture looks, I think that it is the best that could be done to make this picture. The reason I mixed these two people is because of their unique hair style in that both wear it STRAIGHT up. The hardest part of this project was the torso, because i had to make the chest HUGE while maintaining the detail in the shirt and also the lower torso.

 BEFORE                                                    AFTER

I felt successful with both of these retouches. The biggest difference in both the pictures is how the skin looks smoother and has less blemishes. I also brightened up the eyes and lips to make them "pop" more. If I were to redo the second piece, I would try to add more color to her skin, and more brightness to her eyes, and with the first piece just add more brightness to her eyes. Also on the first piece I would change a little bit of her hairline to make it more on point and not so "loose".
